Introduction :
Who's Rurouni Kenshin or Samurai X

First of all i want to say that this is one of my favorite anime, you'll find it out why, when you watch all the animated series, all OVA's, movie and the comics(manga). Nobuhiro Watsuki, create Samurai X or Rurouni Kenshin in 1994, it has 95 TV series (see the episode list), 28 volumes of Manga Magazine, one full lenght movie, and it has Two Original Video Animation (OVA's):

The First OVA is (Tsuioku) and it has Four Episodes:
1. Man Who Slays(Kiru Otoko)
2. The Stray Cat(Mayoi Neko)
3. Early Evening in Mountain Village(Yoi no Satoyama)
4. The Cross-Shaped Wound(Jyuuji Kizu)
The Second OVA is (Seihousen) takes place many years after the anime series, where the Rurouni Kenshin or Samurai X is ended.

Kenshin, whose birth name was actually Shinta, lost his parents at a very young age and was taken by slave traders namely Kasumi, Akani and Sakura, where killed by bandits. The night of his abduction, bandits attacked the slave traders and killed every last living person. Just as Shinta was about to be killed a man by the name of Seijuro Hiko slew the bandits and saved Shinta.

Hiko undertook Shinta as his apprentice and renamed him Kenshin(means Heart of Sowrd), seeing as his birth name was that of a child and not a swordsman. Hiko trained Kenshin in the arts of Hiten Misurugi Ryuu, a sword style which reads the emotions of their opponent and counters their attacks.

At the age of 14, Kenshin left Hiko and was brought in by the Choshu faction to work as a hitokiri (assassin). Up through the age of 18 he killed many political members of the Shogunate, carving his way to the Meiji era. Kenshin makes a promise to cease his manslaughter.

Kenshin later meets a woman by the name of Yukishiro Tomoe and he eventually falls in love with her though she is truly out to kill him because he had assassinated her fiancé. She falls in love with him and eventually helps ease the pain and the madness of being a killer and they get married. Sadly for her, she is killed and Kenshin vows from then on never to kill again. This marks the end of the Bakumatsu era and the start of the Meiji era.

Immediately after the Meiji revolution Kenshin Himura, aka Battousai the Manslayer (Hitokiri Battousai), disappeared. He was not seen again until 10 years later in Tokyo where he met Kamiya Karou, and now lives with her at her dojo. Kenshin still carries his ideals as a wandering swordsman, and does not slay human beings. With that Kenshin tossed aside his daisho in favor of his sakabatou (reverse-blade sword), forever living his life to protect others instead of slaying them.
